A Season of Change
A reason, a season, or a life time is a phrase used to make sense of the ebb and flow of life. Somehow this mentality makes change easier to comprehend. There are some of us who must know why the change is happening and others who are good with the ambiguity. I am sure that is why the Serenity Prayer was created for those who need to know why but will not ever get the answer they are searching for.
God grant me the SERENITY to accept the things I cannot change, the COURAGE to change the things I can and the WISDOM to know the difference.
This prayer is often associated with recovery from addiction. I have this prayer hanging on my wall and I have seen this a thousand of times over my life time. The nugget in this prayer is the WISDOM to know the difference of when I can make a change and when it isn’t mine to change.
I woke with a desire for true acceptance and a willingness to let go of the circumstances outside of my control. I asked for forgiveness for all the situations that weigh heavy on my heart and I especially asked for forgiveness to the one person who really matters the most, myself.
I am not perfect, and I make mistakes. I am human and not made of steel. I am learning everyday how to be a good wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend. I have experienced that when I come from a place of love and compassion that the world seems to make much more sense in this season of change.
